Whether you're welcoming winter by breaking out your snowboard and skis, embracing spring or summer with invigorating hikes, or savoring the autumnal palette during leisurely strolls with your cherished seasonal beverage in hand… this sanctuary offers an unparalleled sense of peaceful retreat throughout the seasons.

The 1,920-square-foot home presents an open floor plan, seamlessly combining the kitchen, living room, and dining area for easy socializing. 

The kitchen, a culinary enthusiast's dream, boasts a high-end chef's stove and all the necessary gadgets for crafting incredible meals.

Expansive windows and two spacious decks let you savor the forest-like setting from inside and out. The house comfortably sleeps guests across three spacious bedrooms, one of which features a bunk over a full-size bed and a second bunk bed.

The property offers two bathrooms, one equipped with convenient Jack and Jill sinks, and two gas fireplaces to add warmth and charm to your stay. 

As a pet-friendly home, we welcome your furry friends to join you (conditions apply, see below).

An added bonus is the family or game room, boasting wood-beam ceilings and a wet bar for your entertainment. And be sure to challenge your companions to a game on the high-end pool table in the game room.

The outdoor space continues to impress with a giant tiered deck leading to a hot tub, from where you can soak up the stunning views.

Guests’ Rules

Welcome to the rules for Whistling Woods Our aim is to maintain a harmonious environment that aligns with local Code Compliance and respects the comfort of all guests. As part of this effort, we've established some friendly but firm and inflexible house guidelines.
 

  1. Maximum Occupancy: 13 guests (10 adults max).
  2. Parking: Space for 4 vehicles, including garage access. Exceeding the limit may result in fines of up to $1,000.
  3. Pets: Pets Allowed (Max: 2 pets).
    • Pets require pre-approval: Post-approval, a $125 fee per pet applies (charged post-booking).
    • Unapproved Pets: incur a minimum of a $1,000 fine.
    • Pet Guidelines:
      • Kennel pets when unattended.
      • Keep off furniture/beds.
      • Clean up after them.
      • Charges apply for pet damages.
    • Coyote Warning: Coyotes are extremely prevalent in Big Bear, even in the most densely populated areas. If you see one, you can bet they’re part of an unseen pack. These animals are bold and territorial. They pose a significant threat to pets. For their safety, never leave your pets unattended, even in fenced areas, especially after dark. Coyotes are known for their ability to overcome barriers, including high fences. And they’re even known for attacking pets that are on a leash. We cannot overstate the need for heightened vigilance concerning your pets' safety.
Please respect the home and follow the rules, just as you expect timely assistance from us. Many of these rules are city regulations, while others help us maintain the homes in top condition. Our goal is to ensure a great experience for our guests and property owners.
* Check-In: City code requires face-to-face check-in at our office in the Village. It will be quick and easy.
* Parking: Follow city-enforced parking limits. If you need more space, let us know.
* Occupancy: Adhere to the maximum occupancy limits enforced by us and the city. No exceptions.
* Noise: Be respectful to neighbors. Keep music inside and at a low volume. Quiet hours are from 9 PM to 8 AM. We have monitoring system in place that reads decibels of noise and notifies you directly and us of loud noises.
* A/C: Most homes do not have air conditioning. Nights are cooler with open windows.
* Ants: Clean up after meals to avoid attracting ants. We use traps and sprays, but cleanliness is key.
* Trash: Dispose of trash at the designated clean site as required by city regulation.
* Age Requirement: You must be at least 24 years old to book. We do not allow parties. This rule is strictly enforced.

Check-in starts at 4 PM at our office in the Village.
Checking In:
* IDs are required at check-in.
* You must be 24 years or older to book and check in.
* Live check-ins are mandatory for all Big Bear homes, and you'll need to sign a Big Bear Good Neighbor Policy (5 minutes).
Early Check-In and Late Check-Out:
* Early check-in and late check-out options are available for a fee, based on availability.
* Please inquire at the front desk for these services.
