When it comes to rest, the suite offers a bedroom adorned with a comfortable queen bed, with the only bathroom conveniently located within. Additionally, the living room houses a day bed with a twin trundle, offering extra sleeping space.
While the unit doesn't come with air conditioning, the fresh mountain air serves as nature's perfect cooling system.

Parking
On-site parking at the property accommodates one vehicle.
According to city ordinance:
- Street parking directly in front of the lodge is permitted.
- However, during snowy conditions, you cannot park on the street.
- It's imperative to avoid leaving vehicles parked, stopped, abandoned, or unattended on any city street.
- There is a large Free Parking area located off of Bartlett, between Beaver Lane & Village Drive if you need additional parking.

Bear Suites Village Inn Rules
Welcome to the rules for Bear Suites Village Inn - Brown Bear Suite. Our aim is to maintain a harmonious environment that aligns with local Code Compliance and respects the comfort of all guests. As part of this effort, we've established some friendly but firm and inflexible house guidelines.
- Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests (4 adults max).
- Parking: Space for 1 vehicle. Exceeding the limit may result in fines of up to $1,000.
- Pets: Pets Allowed (Max: 2 pets).
- Pets require pre-approval: Post-approval, a $20 fee per pet applies (charged post-booking).
- Unapproved Pets: incur a minimum of a $1,000 fine.
- Pet Guidelines:
- Kennel pets when unattended.
- Keep off furniture/beds.
- Clean up after them.
- Charges apply for pet damages.
- Coyote Warning: Coyotes are extremely prevalent in Big Bear, even in the most densely populated areas. If you see one, you can bet they’re part of an unseen pack. These animals are bold and territorial. They pose a significant threat to pets. For their safety, never leave your pets unattended, even in fenced areas, especially after dark. Coyotes are known for their ability to overcome barriers, including high fences. And they’re even known for attacking pets that are on a leash. We cannot overstate the need for heightened vigilance concerning your pets' safety.
- Check-In: Conducted at The Village Office for a warm welcome and local code compliance.
- Noise: Quiet hours from 9 pm to 8 am. You are not allowed to be outside, in a hot tub, play music or create any noise from inside of the residence that could be heard outside of the home. If these rules are violated, Code Enforcement could impose fines of up to $1,000 or eviction. (We have no control over Code Enforcement’s decisions.)
- Air Conditioning: None. Enjoy natural mountain breezes through open windows.
- Ants: Sometimes our ants can be a bit over-friendly. To keep these small visitors at bay, we suggest promptly cleaning up right after each meal and don’t leave food out. (We do use ant bait & ant traps… and the ants tend to look at those as snacks.)
- Trash: You are mandated by ordinance to dispose of your trash at the designated trash site. If you require assistance, we can arrange a pick-up service for a nominal fee.
- Video Surveillance & Noise Monitors: We employ external video surveillance and noise monitors at most of our properties. (We do not have video or audio monitoring inside of the residences.)
- No Smoking/Vaping: We have a very strict No Smoking and/ or No Vaping policy on the grounds of all of our properties.
- If any guest smokes or vapes on the premises during their stay, a minimum cleaning fee of $750 will be charged automatically to the Credit Card on file to cover the cost of carpets cleaning, dry cleaning of all bedspreads, curtains, etc. And the security deposit will be forfeited.
- Age: Minimum booking age is 18.
- Parties: No parties allowed; parties will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of the security deposit. Additional cleaning fees may apply.
- Communication: For questions or concerns, we're available via phone or email.
Note: Code Enforcement enforces all of the ordinances in Big Bear Lake. We have no control over the decisions they make, up to and including fines and evictions.
Note: Any eviction will result in the loss of your security deposit and you will not be entitled to a refund.
Note: Based upon availability and to provide flexibility for our guests, we offer early check-in and late check-out options. There is a fee associated with this service. If you’d like to check in before the usual time, please inquire with front desk, as well for late check-out.

Overall, a great value — convenient, relaxing.
Couldn't be better located to Big Bear Lake Village— close to lake and steps away from all the restaurants and shops. Even a lake view looking at an angle from the front window! Staff is very nice, helpful, and responsive. Unit is very spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen and free parking in private lot behind the inn. The back bedroom is very quiet at all hours. The front room is up above a busy shop on the main drag of the village. We were there midweek and out hiking during the day, so it wasn't a problem, even though we are sensitive to noise. Overall, a great value — convenient, relaxing. I'd stay there again!

Absolutely loved staying here! Perfect location in the village, walking distance to everything. Check-in was easy and the host was very responsive. The place was clean and cute. The heater works really well and the gas fireplace was an added bonus. Overall, would definitely recommend this place.

EXCACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED
Brown Bear was exactly what we needed for a last minute overnight trip to Big Bear Lake! It was exactly as described in the listing, and the location was even better than expected (right on the main street in the village, but not tons of street noise coming in). Loved having a full kitchen with a stocked cabinet (pans, dishware, baking dish). Would definitely stay here again! BTW — parking is located behind the listed address 🙂

The unit was actually much larger than we expected which was great and has all the amenities you could want, although you'll probably spend most of your time out and about given when the stay is. Tons of bars and restaurants within walking distance. It was quite noisy up until around 9-10pm just because you are right in the middle of it all. 10am check out seems a little early but I think that's standard for the Big Bear area

Always felt at home and never really had trouble with noise in the middle of the night, despite being in the middle of town. The team is always responsive and helped with questions I had in regards to location, weather, and the like. Definitely a great home base if you're looking to stay in Big Bear with plenty in walking and driving distance.

First time staying in Brown Bear, comfortable stay. The bed was a little creaky but it served it purpose just fine. This a great spot if you want to by the shops and restaurants and don't want to have to drive every where. Loved that it had a fireplace and full kitchen. Short drive to some local hikes and the lifts. Kudos to the girls at check-in, very friendly and welcoming!

My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay. It was our first time going to Big Bear together and we were so pleased with the location & friendliness of the staff. It's literally in the heart of The Village so you'll be a walk away from many great restaurants and the lake. The place itself is clean & cozy, the amenities are a plus, and parking is a breeze. We look forward to going back and staying here again very soon.

Great village location
This is our second time staying here and everything was great. You can't beat the location of being right in the village and able to walk to everything. The property is clean, spacious and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
Brown Bear
The Brown Bear unit was in a perfect location overlooking the main street! Could walk anywhere since you're right at the beginning of the downtown. Felt like a mini apartment. The upper unit didn't have a hot tub, my understanding is that the lower units do...and the only downside to the unit was that the bed was extremely squeaky. Other than that, great spot for the price!
